Tackling the TBR Pile

I'm on a reading frenzy lately. I finished The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour late last week, read Alice Hoffman's Skylight Confessions over the weekend, and I'm just about finished with The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Next up: Tighter, by Adele Griffin.
Tighter, a paranormal YA, showed up in my mailbox a couple weeks ago. I entered so many giveaways this past month but I don't know which blog picked me as the winner (there was no name on the package). So to whomever sent me the book, THANK YOU! Books in the mail always make my day; surprise books are even better!
What are your yesterday, today and tomorrow books?

  1. Wish I could read that fast! I'm on my 12th and 13th books this year, I think, which is pretty good for me (lol). Just started The Help, which I'm liking so far - really engaging voice. And so many to be read - I'm keen to get to Before I Go to Sleep by SJ Watson, and Stephen King's 22/11/63 (is that the right date?! Lol).

    1. I'm usually not a fast reader at all! My current book will only be my eleventh this year, but I have had opportunities to read for long stretches in the last week. LOVED The Help, and you're right - her voice was so authentic and engaging!

  2. Hey, Dawn! Sorry to have been away for so long, but I hope you're doing well! I'm actually working on my first novel at the moment, so I've put away any books TBR. Takes the pressure off, you know, so I can concentrate on writing, HAHA! Take care!

    1. I totally understand, Lauren! Too many distractions = too little writing! Best wishes for finishing that novel!

  3. I am in a strange position: my TBR pile is caught up. Must stock up immediately. :)

  4. I've got a pile of fiction and non fiction based in Ancient Egypt. I've got some books, some on my iPad and because I'm also busy writing a novel (set in modern day New York, but the protagonist is resurrected from Ancient Egypt) I'm listening to audio books - have Rick Riordan's Red Pyramid playing (it's well suited for the audience, but I'm finding the characters a little annoying).
    Happy reading!

    1. My son and I loved the Percy Jackson series and were excited when the Red Pyramid came out. We had the same feeling about the characters, too.
      Good luck with your research!

  5. I love a good reading frenzy. Thanks for letting us in on yours! It's so much fun hearing about what books people are devouring.

I'm coming off a reading high - trying to catch my breath after The Fault in Our Stars, How to Save a Life, and The Firefly Letters. Next up are Why We Broke Up and I'll Be There, but I'm taking these a little more slowly.

    1. That's the downside of reading so many good books, isn't it? You fly through them too quickly even though you wish you could savor them a little longer!
      Happy reading, Ruth!

  6. I don't know what it is, but I've been having trouble finding a good book to read. I've picked up and put down the last few because I made a deal with myself that I wouldn't finish books that weren't interesting or compelling to me. (Life's too short to read the books I don't enjoy!)

Anyway, I'm still searching for a great one. :)

  7. I just started The Grimm Legacy! I have a huge pile of books to start as soon as I am done. Not sure what I will pick yet. :)

  8. Ahaha, I know I'm WAY far away, but I just noticed John Green in your tags and of course, I freaked out because John Green is one of my favourite authors. Did you like TFIOS?
